Sunday 25 November 2012 - Day 1 All Ireland Cross Country Championships Juvenile even ages and Inter counties Men & Women, Tattersalls, Ratoath, Co. Meath

We had six girls competing in the first race of the day in the U12 2,000m. This was run over one large lap of the mucky cross country course. Lauren Carey had a tremendous run finishing in 9th place and was also part of the Leinster team which won Gold in the Inter-Provinicial competition. She was joined by club mates Abigail Dunne (28th and running up an age) and Keela McGee (37th) on the County team to win bronze medal in the Inter-County Competition. Naas AC also secured a club silver medal in the Inter-Club competition with the above three girls joined by Eabha Stewart, Sally Murphy and Lisa Mulcahy. Well done to all girls in what was a very competitive race (over 170 athletes took part).

Tony O'Connor (running up an age) was our sole competitior in the Boys U14 3,000m and was unlucky to finish outside the medals in the Inter-County competition.

In the Girls U16 4,000m we had another top twelve finisher with Siobhan Delaney running an excellent race to finish in 11th place. She was followed home by Anna Cleary (running up an age) in 24th place and both Girls finished just outside the medals in the Provinicial and County competition with both teams finishing in 4th place. At this stage the course was extremely mucky but the full Naas team of Siobhan, Anna, Aine O'Connor (running up an age), Ruth Murphy, Jessica Lanigan and Amy Carey (also running up an age) ran really brave races and can be proud of their achievements.

Day 2 of the All Irelands takes place in Adamstown in two weeks time and Naas has a really strong team going to these championships.

Sunday 11 November 2012 - DAY 2 Leinster Cross Country Championships Juvenile uneven ages and Intermediate Men & Women, Dunboyne, Co. Meath.

Dunboyne was the venue for day two of the Leinster Cross Country Championshipsand Naas had a huge turnout of athletes with competition for boys and girls under 11, 13, 15, 17 and 19 years and for Intermediate men. The Dunboyne Cross Country course was a very good venue, being a flat course although it was very mucky in parts. Behind the scenes there was plenty of parking, it was well marshalled and there were good facilities on site.
Naas had one of its best Championships ever, winning one individual gold medal, one silver medal and one bronze medal. Our club team won one bronze medal and our athletes were part of the County teams which won one gold, one silver and two bronze medals.
In the first race of the day, over 140 athletes took to the line, in the Girls U11 1500m and Abigail Dunne ran her best race of the year to finish in 2nd place while the impressive Eabha Stewart finished in 11th place. Both girls were part of the County team who won the team gold medal.
Michael Lawlor was an excellent winner of the Boys U11 1500m race leading home a field of over 130 athletes. Sean Woods stormed home to finish in 7th place and the Naas team of Lawlor, Woods, Conan Boran and Patrick Farmer also won the club silver team medal and were all part of the county team that also won a silver team medal.
Tony O’Connor ran his usual brave race to finish in 8th place in the Boys U13 2500m and with Naas team mates Eoin Conneff and Adam Byrne secured a County team bronze medal.
In the Girls U17 4000m Siobhan Delaney proved a classy runner coming in 3rd place and along with Naas girls Ruth Murphy and Emily Sheehan won a County team bronze medal.
